Rescue Women Foundation
Empowering women and girls in poverty
The Rescue Women Foundation seeks to support teenage mothers through a ‘Triple R’ approach. First, the program ‘Rescues’ underage girls who have been sexually abused and provides them shelter, food, and safety. Second, it ‘Rehabilitates’ them through various activities including prayer and counselling, prenatal/postnatal care, health talks, medical services, and other health activities. Third, it ‘Restores’ them by equipping them with skills they will need to be resilient and to survive a harsh and hostile world. Such skills include traditional schooling and entrepreneurship vocational training (tailoring, shoe making, basket weaving, auto repair, hairdressing, etc.). Many of them stay at our Foundation House. After birth of their children, and after neonatal care, the less vulnerable young mothers are reintegrated into their communities.
