Hello!

I originally wanted to start this non-profit as a way to help small and vetted NGOs in Uganda be able to fundraise organically for themselves. Having full accountability of funds sent to our sponsored organizations requires a system of diligent accounting and rigorous receipt tabulation. Knowing that I could facilitate this accountability through a proper system, and with the help of accountants who have the heart of a teacher, I started this organization with two of my passionate friends. We support already established and small NGOs that just need a small hand up to become a sustainable entity.

 

I am passionate about sustainable agriculture as well as community empowerment. I am a mushroom grower with over a decade of experience in cultivating gourmet and medicinal mushrooms such as Reishi and Turkey tail. That experience eventually led to me discovering established non-profits in Uganda that were growing oyster mushrooms as a way to turn inedible material such as banana leaves and corn cobs into edible mushrooms. After personally helping these organizations cultivate oyster mushrooms for years, I decided that I would volunteer my time into starting this organization and ensuring that it can facilitate the greatest percentage of donor contributions going to our sponsored organizations as possible. 

 

Currently all of our board members are volunteers, and no donor contributions have gone to or will go to start-up costs. We strive to keep operating costs at an absolute minimum so that we can best facilitate fundraising for our sponsored organizations. I cannot wait to see the impact that our followers will have, as it can create a ripple effect of generosity that reaches into our local communities as well.
